Classic Metal Works has manufactured various ranges of diecast models since the late 1990s. The company is based in Ohio, but the models are made in China. Originally Classic Metal Works manufactured models of classic American cars and trucks in 1/87th and 1/160th scale, classic American cars in standard and customized versions in 1/24th scale and contemporary US police cars, also in 1/24th scale. In 2001, 1/24th scale models of Hot Rods designed by Thom Taylor were introduced in the "Kalifornia Kicks" range. Later the company concentrated on the smaller scale models, but also released a new range of Japanese tuning cars in 1/24th scale. Classic Metal Works was taken over by the Round 2 group in 2017.
